Pastor Laura and her Family

Rev. Laura A. Beville has been the pastor at First United Methodist Church of Coos Bay since July 1, 2010. She has been in ministry since July 2001 after receiving her Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology in May that same year. Her undergraduate work was in Deaf Studies at California State University, Northridge. Pastor Laura was commissioned as a Probationary Elder in June 2004, and ordained an Elder in Full Connection in June 2006.

Pastor Laura has served as an Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church, Eugene, Oregon (July 2001 – June 2004), Senior Pastor at Jerome United Methodist Church, Jerome, Idaho (July 2004 – June 2008), and Senior Pastor at Pleasant Home United Methodist Church, Gresham, Oregon, and Faith United Methodist Church, Troutdale, Oregon (July 2008 – June 2010).

Pastor Laura lives here in Coos Bay with her husband, Marshall, and their daughter, Eliana. In her spare time, when she is not playing with Eliana at Mingus Park, Pastor Laura enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, listening to musicals, and playing music (guitar and piano).

Pastor Laura’s typical office hours are Monday – Thursday from 9:00 – 12:00 p.m., though she is willing to meet at other times at local coffee shops if you would prefer!
