Prayer is an essential part of the Christian Life, the way that we keep in touch with God and God keeps in touch with us. At times, prayer is nearly effortless, a simple conversation with God, an assurance of God's presence and grace. At other times, prayer can be more difficult, and at those times it can be helpful to have tools to help us pray. One good tool is the daily devotion offered by The Upper Room:

The Order of Saint Luke is a United Methodist order devoted to liturgical and sacramental renewal. They offer a number of resources for praying the Daily Office, an ancient form of Christian prayer that punctuates the day with prayer.
